Nice People Finish First (Eventually)

We often hear the phrase “Nice guys finish last.”

But in business—and in life—I’ve found the opposite to be true.

People like working with nice people.

Not the flashy ones shouting the loudest online.

Not the ones who make life complicated.

But the ones who just… make everything that bit easier.

I’m talking about the people who:

  • Turn up on time (or even a little early)

  • Are friendly, respectful, and tidy

  • Do what they say they’ll do, when they say they’ll do it

  • Don’t expect the world to revolve around them

  • Are genuinely good to be around

These are the people who get recommended. The ones others go out of their way to help. The ones clients come back to, time and time again.

And here’s the good news: you don’t need to be the loudest, trendiest, or most “influential” person in the room to build a thriving business. You just need to be good at what you do and be someone others enjoy working with. That combination? It’s powerful.

Will it happen overnight?

Nope.

Will it take effort, consistency, and probably a bit of grit?

Absolutely.

But remember: the tortoise wins the race. Every time.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed by everyone else’s highlight reels on social media, take a breath. Ignore the noise. Trust your gut.

Keep showing up. Keep being kind. Keep making life easier for the people around you.

That’s how you build something that lasts.
