Summer Slows, But Andiamo Grows

Well, July is over… and that means only one thing: the school holidays have well and truly begun!
If you're anything like me, the school holidays bring a bit of a double-edged sword. On the plus side, my drive back from wild swimming (yes, I’ve become that person!) has gone from 15–20 minutes to less than five. No school-run traffic. No commuter chaos. Just a peaceful early morning glide through the lanes of Bingley – and a far less rushed start to the day.
But on the down side… work has definitely slowed down.
At first, that lull always brings a bit of a panic. For many self-employed people and small business owners, quieter periods can feel unsettling. But here’s the thing: slowing down doesn’t mean standing still.
In fact, the slower pace has given me something I’ve needed for a while – space to finally act on plans I’ve been mulling over for months.
Here’s what I’ve been up to behind the scenes:
✅ I’ve signed up for a marathon. No turning back now! Personal goals matter just as much as business ones.
✅ I’ve developed a brand-new product – set to launch in September (watch this space).
✅ I’ve expanded my podcast reach, now streaming on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other major platforms. You’ll find great chats with brilliant self-employed guests sharing what it’s really like to run a business.
✅ I’ve reviewed and revamped my website, giving the SEO and accessibility a major glow-up. It's not glamorous, but it's so important for making sure people can find and use your services.
✅ I’ve been a guest on two podcasts, spreading the word about how vital tailored self-employed support can be.
✅ I’ve attended some new networking events, there are fabulous opportunities to grow your reach right here in Yorkshire.
✅ I’ve welcomed two new customers into the Andiamo fold. It’s always a joy to partner with passionate small business owners and find ways to lighten their workload.
✅ And – perhaps most exciting of all – I’m absolutely thrilled to share that Andiamo Business Assistance has won the Yorkshire Prestige Awards 2025 Virtual Support Service of the Year category! I can’t wait for the award ceremony in December – such an exciting milestone! 🎉
So yes, the pace might have dipped. But Andiamo has definitely been moving forward.
If you're a small business owner or self-employed and you’ve felt that July slowdown too, maybe now’s the perfect time to revisit your own back-burner plans. Need help getting them over the line? That’s exactly what I’m here for.
Based in beautiful Bingley, Andiamo Business Assistance offers bespoke support for business owners who want a steady, reliable, and proactive Virtual Assistant by their side. Whether it’s help with admin, comms, planning, or bouncing around ideas – I’m your Support Expert.
Let’s make the most of this quiet spell – and get you ready to hit the ground running come September.
Here’s to a productive pause –Andiamo!
