A Busy, Exciting, and Profitable Time!

Well, here we are—month five. And what a whirlwind it’s been! If I’m being honest, I’ve been busier than I expected, but in the best way possible.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve recently been offered a six-month contract as a Contract Manager with an NHS Trust. This means three days a week are now dedicated to them, which is an exciting new challenge for me. Although it’s a shift from my usual routine, my 18 (ish) years of experience in procurement and contract delivery have come in handy. It’s been great to tap into those skills, along with my project management know-how, to really make an impact and help my new colleagues.

The part-time nature of the contract also allows me to continue supporting my regular customers and respond to any ad hoc requests, all while keeping my business growing. It’s such a nice feeling to finally be in profit! The feedback I’ve been receiving has been incredibly motivating and has really boosted my confidence—especially as I continue to balance both this new contract and my business commitments.

One thing that’s made a huge difference is getting much more structured with my brand management. Big shoutout to the amazing brand photographer Cecilia Costello for her help. She’s guided me in developing a monthly marketing plan that has been a game changer. It’s helping me stay organised and shift from a reactive to a more proactive approach with my social media posts. With less time on my hands, this structure has made it so much easier to stay on top of everything.

That said, there’s always a bit of a balancing act. My workload has increased significantly, and while I’m loving the challenge, it’s meant I’ve had to be more selective about attending networking events. Staying connected with my community is so important, and I’m making it a priority to attend as many events as possible so I don’t miss out on valuable connections and opportunities.

Looking ahead to December, it’s shaping up to be just as busy. I fully expect to be working throughout the month—whether that’s supporting my clients or focusing on my business. But I’m determined to finish the year strong, make sure that I take some time for myself, and start 2025 with a bang!

There’s so much to look forward to, and I’m excited for what’s next.
