Andiamo Business Assistance April 2026 Reflections
Discover Andiamo’s April reflections, from new clients and networking to award recognition, podcast highlights and business growth this spring.

I love April.

There’s something about this month that always feels full of possibility. The days are longer, the sun has a little more strength to it, and suddenly life feels less rushed. It’s as if there are extra hours tucked into the day somewhere.

Everywhere you look, there’s newness. Lambs in the fields, blossom on the trees, fresh green leaves appearing where bare branches stood just weeks ago. Nature gets busy in April, and it always feels like a gentle reminder that growth often happens quietly before it becomes obvious.

Despite the bank holidays and a very well-earned week away, April has been one of those months where, looking back, I realise just how much has happened alongside supporting my ever-growing customer base day to day.

I attended my first virtual networking event with GenNet Business Networking this month, and I’m so glad I did. It was excellently organised, welcoming, and genuinely enjoyable. Better still, it led to some fantastic new connections and follow-up conversations, which is exactly what great networking should do.

I’ve also been back behind the microphone, recording more episodes of Strings To Your Bow ready for Season 7.

Those episodes will be released from September through to December 2026, which feels satisfyingly organised. There’s something really rewarding about planning ahead!

Another real highlight was being invited as a guest on the University of Bradford podcast.

I had a brilliant conversation with host David Spicer and his colleague, fellow entrepreneur Nuno Arroteia. We discussed The Challenges of Setting Out Alone, a topic very close to my heart.

Anyone who has started a business solo knows it can be exciting, rewarding, daunting and occasionally overwhelming, sometimes all before lunch. It made for such an honest and thoughtful conversation, and I’ll always grab and opportunity to speak openly about the realities of self-employment.

April also brought a new client onboard through word-of-mouth recommendation, which is always especially rewarding.

When someone recommends your business to another person, it says so much more than any advert ever could. It means trust has been built, results have been delivered, and people feel confident sending others your way.

Alongside that, I’ve also had promising conversations with two more business owners looking for someone who has their back and gets things done. Honestly, that sums up exactly how I like to work.

And then came a lovely surprise.

I received confirmation that I was a Silver Winner in the Best New Business category at The Best SME Awards.

Running your own business can sometimes mean moving from one task to the next without pausing to notice how far you’ve come, so moments like this really matter. Recognition is wonderful, but it also gives you a chance to reflect on the hard work, persistence and belief it took to get here.

I’ve also recently been linked up with a business coach.

Many fellow business owners work with coaches, but it’s not something I’ve done since going it alone. I’m genuinely looking forward to the process, not just for strategy and support, but for the dedicated time to reflect, challenge myself, and think bigger.

Sometimes the best thing you can do in business is stop doing for a moment and start thinking.

April has been full in all the best ways.

New conversations, new opportunities, recognition, growth, and the reminder that businesses, much like springtime, are always evolving.

If this month has taught me anything, it’s that progress doesn’t always arrive with fireworks. Sometimes it comes through consistent effort, quiet momentum, and simply continuing to show up.

Here’s to whatever May has in store. Andiamo!
